What do my friends need to do so that I can get my reward?
When your friends receive your link and click on it, they will be redirected to the Xoom site. If they sign up, send money and the recipient receives the money, you have successfully generated a referral. Both you and your friend will receive your rewards. Please note your friends must use your specially provided link so that we can associate you with your friends.
Who is the referrer?
The referrer is the person who recommends that friends use Xoom by sharing the unique link that is provided to him/her when s/he signs up for the Refer a Friend Program.
Who is the referee?
The referee is the friend of the referrer if the friend uses the special link provided by the referrer to send his/her first successful Xoom transaction. If s/he does, both the referrer and friend will qualify for rewards.
How do I choose my reward?
When you first sign up to the Refer a Friend program and after you have created a password, you will be prompted to choose the reward that you want to receive. All you have to do is select the reward of your choice and click the “save” button. Please know that your friends must use your special link and send their first successful transaction before you can receive rewards.
If you are already a member of the Refer a Friend program but did not choose your reward when you signed up, don’t worry. Choosing a reward is easy! Simply:
What are the rewards?
The referrer can choose to receive a $15 Amazon or Walmart.com gift card. Friends you refer (Referees) will be rewarded with a $15 Amazon gift card. Xoom may change the reward options at any time. Xoom will let you know if your reward option is no longer available and show you how to pick a new reward.
How long will it take to receive my reward?
Both you and your will receive your rewards within 2 business days of the successful completion of your friend’s Xoom transaction. “Successful completion” means that the money sent by your friend is received by the person to whom your friend sent money. Your friend may receive your reward before you do – don’t be alarmed, yours is on the way.
How is the reward sent to me?
You will receive the reward directly from your chosen rewards vendor via email. For example, if you chose to receive an Amazon gift card, the email sender will be Amazon. The subject line will be “Xoom Refer a Friend Program sent you a Gift Card”. The email will contain a claim code that you will need to redeem your reward. The claim code is very important. Keep it safe.
Please make sure that you set your email account preferences to allow you to receive emails from the vendor of your choice. Also, please double-check your inbox and your spam folder. Remember that the reward is sent within 2 business days after the receipt of the money by your friend’s recipient.
What do I need to do to earn a reward for referring a friend?
Refer a Friend is designed to be an easy way to earn a reward for your friends who sign up and send their first transaction using Xoom. Simply sign up for the Refer a Friend program, and share your unique link with your friends. You earn a reward when the money sent by your friend is received.
Remember, if your friend does not click on your link, we will not be able to associate you with your friend’s first transaction and you may not receive your rewards. If your friend doesn’t click on your link, neither of you are eligible for the rewards even if your friend makes their first money transfer.
What does my friend need to do to make sure they get a reward (and I get mine!)?
Your friend must click on the link that you sent them and complete their first successful money transfer with xoom.com. In order for your referral to be valid, once your friend clicks on your link and starts the money transfer process, he/she should not:

How many friends can I refer?
You can refer as many friends as you want! You will earn a $15 reward for each friend you refer who completes their first Xoom transaction. Please review our terms and conditions for additional details.
Can I refer myself? My spouse? A family member?
You may not refer yourself. You may refer a spouse or a family member as long as they reside in a different household from you.
Can I change my mind and choose a different reward type?
You can change your reward choice as many times as you want before your friend successfully sends money. We will fulfill the reward option that was saved in your account at the time your friend’s transaction is complete and the money is with the recipient. If you want to change your reward option, all you have to do is log into your account, click on the “Your Rewards” tab, click on the icon of the vendor of your choice, and finally click the “save” button. We’ll let you know if your reward choice is no longer available at the time your friend’s transaction is complete and walk you through how to choose a new reward option.
What happens if I forget to choose a reward?
If you have not chosen a reward by the time your friend successfully completes their first money transfer with Xoom, you will receive an Amazon gift card by default. If you want to choose a different reward for your next referral, you can log in to your account and make a reward choice.
