What are the Bank Deposit requirements in Jamaica?

You can deposit money into Jamaican Dollar (JMD) bank accounts at most banks in Jamaica through our partners VMBS Money Transfer Services (VMTS) and JMMB Money Transfer.

In order for your bank deposit to be processed in a timely manner, please make sure you provide all the recipient’s information needed for the transfer.

  • Bank Name, as bank deposits are available to most banks in Jamaica. View Xoom Money Transfer Locations for complete list of available banks.
  • Bank Branch Name (if applicable)
  • Account Number
  • The entire name of your recipient as it appears on the recipient's Bank Account
  • Complete address, including the city and the parish
  • A valid phone number, for example (876) 777-7777

Important information for the recipient
Your recipient must have a completed form on file with either VMTS (for deposits to accounts at VMBS, Jamaica Money Market Brokers and Jamaica National (JMBS)) or JMMB Money Transfer (for deposits to accounts at all other banks).

If you are sending money to yourself, you as the recipient must have the appropriate form on file.
